Frequently Asking Questions

Am I eligible for the DTC if I only have ADHD?

If someone has ADHD and it has impaired their life, this person should qualify for the DTC.

The purpose of the DTC is to provide eligible taxpayers with some tax relief to pay for their unavoidable expenses as a result of their disability. You do NOT need to be non-functioning in order to be eligible.

That being said, simply stating that you have an ADHD diagnosis won't be enough to meet criteria. It's crucial to explain how the person's ADHD impacts their day-to-day life.

Can I simply have my doctor fill out the form for me?  Why do I need your service?

The CRA has become very strict with who they approve for the Disability Tax Credit. If your application form doesn't clearly demonstrate the severity of your condition using the language, examples and formatting that the CRA is looking for, your application will likely be denied.

At Disability Tax Pro, we KNOW what the CRA is looking for when reviewing applications. Working with us allows you to maximize your chances of approval.
